My thoughts on the Roland Vad 506

This kit is one of Roland's new drums and it's part of the v-drums series.

I recently purchased this kit, it costs €5000 but for this price you get a Millennium Pro double kicks I feel it is worth every penny.

This kit is equipped with the incredible td-27 module, this module contains 55 present kits and 45 user kits. There are a wide array of different kits which allow you to play an variety of different styles of music.

An outstanding feature of this module is that it is Bluetooth friendly allowing you to play to your favourite songs without the need of a aux cable.

The kit itself is extremely well balanced it has a nice midnight sparkle finish and the shells feel extremely durable. All the drums are equipped with a rim click feature with is very handy and the ride has a bell unlike many other electronic kits.

The feel of the mesh heads are incredible you can tell Roland have really spent time perfecting the amount of bounce off the mesh.

The specifications of the drums are the following a 20'' x 16'' kick, 14'' x 5'' snare, 10''x 7'' tom 1, 12'' x 8'' tom 2, 14''x 3'' floor tom, 14'' crash, 16'' crash and a 18'' ride.

My favourite feature of this kit is the ability to customise everything on the kit for example if you wanted to convert one the cymbals to a china or a splash there are tons of options you can also mess around with reverse crashes tree chimes or a cowbell.

Another great feature is the recording feature which is brilliant for improving your skills and you can record yourself playing to your favourite tracks.

My old kit was a td-4 it was a great kit and extremely durable but I felt that didn't have the same feel as. the vad 506 furthermore the development that Roland has done in such a short time frame is astonishing.

My final thoughts on this kit is that it is extreme good and has a great feel and look and that it is worth every penny.
